Alden H. Wolfe, a Rockland County legislator and attorney, is running for one of three New York Supreme Court seats in the Ninth Judicial District on Nov. 3.

The state’s amended certification lists Wolfe on the Democratic and Conservative lines. Five candidates are competing for three seats; voters may choose up to three.

The district includes Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. The other candidates are Maria Rosa, George Fufidio, Richard Fava Pastilha and John Ciampoli.

Professional background

Wolfe’s official county biography identifies him as District 6 legislator and majority leader. It describes a private law practice in New City involving estate planning, probate, elder law, guardianship, business and real estate.

The biography lists a Binghamton University bachelor’s degree, a Syracuse University law degree and a master’s degree in public administration from Syracuse’s Maxwell School.

His community service includes prior leadership with the Rockland Community College Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of Rockland, according to the county biography.

No submitted Surround Sound Media questionnaire response from Wolfe was available as of Oct. 14.

Correction, Oct. 14, 2026: An earlier version misstated the number of seats and selections as seven. The certified ballot provides three seats and permits up to three selections. It also incorrectly listed Fufidio on the Working Families line; he appears on the Democratic and Republican lines.

Responses are based on public data and answers to a Surround Sound Media questionnaire if they were provided.
