Bus riders in Bronxville, Scarsdale and Eastchester will see new weekday schedules on three local routes starting Sept. 7.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins announced the fall service changes on Monday, Aug. 31, covering more than 15 Bee-Line bus routes across the county.
The county said the changes reflect ridership demand and aim to improve reliability.
Three routes serving Bronxville, Scarsdale and Eastchester are among those affected.
Route 52, which connects the Bronx, Mount Vernon and Bronxville, will have its weekday schedule adjusted. Route 66, linking Dobbs Ferry, Scarsdale, Larchmont and New Rochelle, will also get a new weekday schedule.
Route 45, serving Eastchester, New Rochelle and Pelham Bay, is also on the list. Three other routes that pass through the area are not changing: Route 63 between Scarsdale and White Plains, Route 26 between the Bronx, Yonkers and Bronxville, and Route 30 between Yonkers, Bronxville and New Rochelle.
The county did not specify whether the local adjustments mean earlier or later trips, or fewer of them. Updated timetables are posted on the county transportation department's website.
Across the system, the full list of routes with weekday schedule changes includes Routes 1, 1X, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12, 14, 15, 45, 52, 60, 62 and 66. Routes 16 and 18/31 will be adjusted to align more closely with published timetables. Route 20 will see weekday and Sunday changes.
Express Route 1X service will be extended to Bradhurst Avenue. Route 43 will add a new northbound 6:35 a.m. trip between White Plains Road and East 241st Street in the Bronx and Westchester Medical Center.
Seasonal Playland service on Routes 75 and 91 will end with the Sept. 7 changeover.
"The Bee-Line Bus System is an essential service that connects residents to jobs, schools, health care and communities throughout Westchester," Jenkins said in the announcement. He urged all riders to check the new schedules before traveling.
Riders should note that Monday, Sept. 7, is Labor Day. Bee-Line buses will run on a Sunday schedule that day, with the new fall timetables taking effect afterward.
Riders can check updated schedules or call the Bee-Line Customer Service Center at (914) 813-7777. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends and holidays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
