The defending Section 1 Class C champion Bronxville Broncos open their 2026 field hockey season Saturday, Sept. 5, hosting Pelham at Hayes Field. It's the first of 16 regular-season games stretching through Oct. 19.
Bronxville captured last year's Class C title with a 3-0 win over Rye Neck on Nov. 1, 2025, at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak, finishing 15-3.
But the Broncos must replace key contributors from that championship run, including forward Emma Yeon, who scored twice in the title game, and goalkeeper Eva Klessel, who committed to play at SUNY Oneonta.
The roster turnover is significant. Eleanor Fahy and Sabrina Presant, both credited as standouts in the championship game, also graduated.
The 2026 schedule, published by lohud.com, features nine home dates at Hayes Field and Chambers Field.
Confirmed venues include Hayes Field for the Sept. 5 opener against Pelham, the Tuesday, Sept. 22, matchup with Scarsdale and the Monday, Oct. 12, game against Ursuline. Chambers Field hosts Valhalla/Westlake on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Albertus Magnus on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The Scarsdale game stands out as a cross-class Section 1 rivalry contest. Rye Neck, last year's Class C runner-up at 14-4, visits Oct. 5 in a rematch of the 2025 championship game.
"I really think it's the energy of our team … we've been playing for so long together that we're not just a team, we're a family, and that really came out today," Emma Yeon said after the Broncos' Nov. 1, 2025, championship win over Rye Neck. The 2026 squad will aim to forge that bond with new faces.
