The Picture House Bronxville is turning a weather delay into a Halloween party.
The nonprofit theater at 84 Kraft Ave. rescheduled its annual Party on Kraft fundraiser as "Party on Witch-Kraft," set for Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. A nor'easter and a declared state of emergency forced the postponement of the original Sept. 26 date, according to MyHometownBronxville.
The Picture House said in a Sept. 26 Instagram post that the safety of guests and the community came first. The theater added that the new date called for "a little Halloween magic" as it kicks off its centennial year.
The evening starts with live music from Freeway & Friends, La Casa's margaritas, beer and wine, and food trucks Pugsley Pizza and Tecas Tacos. At 8 p.m., the party moves indoors for movies and dessert.
Guests choose from three Halloween screenings: The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Friday the 13th. Costumes are encouraged.
Bronxville residents Gina Nigido Lander, Sarab Leivers and Meredith Dixon co-chair the event. Proceeds support The Picture House Regional Film Center, which runs community film and education programming at its theaters in Bronxville and Pelham.
"Party on Witch-Kraft is a chance to celebrate together, enjoy a great night at the movies, and support our historic nonprofit theater at the heart of the Bronxville community," Executive Director Clayton Bushong said.
Guests who held tickets for the original Sept. 26 date will have them honored on Oct. 29. Those unable to attend can request a full refund by emailing [email protected].
A raffle is open to anyone, including those who cannot attend. The prize is a private theater experience for up to 30 guests at The Picture House.
Raffle tickets cost $25 each or five for $100, and the winner will be drawn at the event. Tickets are available at thepicturehouse.org.
