Westchester County approved a fencing subcontractor Oct. 15 for the $8.7 million Bronx River Pathway reconstruction through Scarsdale.

The county's Board of Acquisition and Contract cleared Security Fence Systems, Inc., a Bronx-based firm, to work under Contract No. 23-511, according to the board's meeting agenda. The resolution passed alongside more than 20 other items.

The pathway reconstruction spans the Bronx River Reservation from Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla to Greenacres Avenue in the Village of Scarsdale. The route passes through the City of White Plains and the Towns of Greenburgh and North Castle.

Peter J. Landi, Inc., a Hawthorne-based contractor, holds the prime contract. The board awarded the firm the project as the lowest of 11 bidders at $8,765,675, according to earlier board records.

The Oct. 15 resolution did not specify the dollar value of Security Fence Systems' subcontract, a construction timeline or the scope of fencing work along the pathway.
