The Scarsdale Woman's Club donated $1,500 to Hospice of Westchester for end-of-life home care in the county.

Mary Ann Alling presented the check on behalf of the club to staff at the nonprofit's White Plains office, the Yonkers Times reported Friday, Aug. 28.

Hospice of Westchester, known as HOW, provides home-based hospice services to patients with serious or life-limiting illnesses and support to their families.

"The Scarsdale Woman's Club has been a strong supporter of our organization for years, and we are grateful for their unwavering generosity," said Mary K. Spengler, CEO of Hospice of Westchester.

Holly K. Benedict, HOW's director of development and public affairs, joined Spengler at the presentation with Alling.

The club, a 501(c)(3) founded in 1918, draws members from 28 communities and has run a Philanthropy Committee since 1924, according to the club's website.

Residents interested in joining can attend a Membership Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m.
