The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit rolled into Eastchester on Sunday, Oct. 18, for its sixth consecutive year in town.
Police, fire and medical responders from Bronxville, Eastchester, Tuckahoe and departments across Westchester County escorted the 83-foot tractor-trailer into town, according to the Yonkers Times. FDNY members joined the procession as well.
The Eastchester Rotary Club Foundation organized the visit, continuing a partnership that has brought the exhibit to the community each year since 2021.
Once parked, the trailer opens into a 1,100-square-foot interactive museum. The exhibit honors all who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, including the 343 members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) who died that day and those who have since died from 9/11-related illnesses.
Visitors walk through displays featuring steel beams from the towers, documentary videos and recordings of first responder radio transmissions. FDNY firefighters lead guided tours with firsthand accounts of that day and its aftermath.
The mobile museum has traveled to nearly 50 states and Canada and has educated more than one million visitors, the Yonkers Times reported.
Eastchester Town Supervisor Tony Colavita credited the 9/11 Education Foundation, the Rotary Club of Eastchester and Carrie Benedict-Foley of the Foley Family Foundation for helping bring the exhibit back each year.
"25 years since September 11, 2001, we remain committed to honoring those we lost, educating future generations, and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten," Colavita said.
In a previous year, Eastchester firefighters helped set up the museum at the Lake Isle Country Club campus. The specific location and public visiting hours for the October 2026 stop were not listed in available coverage.
