Thirteen new teachers and staff began at the Bronxville School during a two-day orientation Sept. 1–2, joined by nine teacher residents and eight psychology interns and externs across the K–12 building.

The district introduced the 30 new team members during the orientation, according to the school's announcement.

Staff Development Coordinator Dana Landesman and Mentor Coordinator Lauren Wright led the sessions, which included professional learning, a building tour and meetings with supervisors and mentors.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Rachel Kelly and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Ann Meyer presented the district's vision for advancing the Bronxville Promise, the guiding framework the district adopted in 2014 and last updated in 2022 after community feedback.

The hiring class leans heavily toward the elementary grades. Nine of the 13 new faculty positions are in grades K–5: Sabrina Lopez and Vicky Crowley in kindergarten, Marykate Gorham and Molly Foley in first grade, Mary Bruschi and Margaret DeRaffele in second grade, Rebecca Galgano and Melody Almonte in fourth grade, and Andréa Rogers in fifth grade.

Lexi Arborn joins as elementary physical education teacher, and Niki Barolini takes over as elementary art teacher. Kayla Yankowski is the new special education teacher. James Goldman joins the middle and high school English department.

Nine teacher residents also started across the district. Seven are placed in the elementary school, one in special education and one in middle and high school social studies.

The eight psychology interns and externs are assigned across the elementary, middle and high school levels. The district listed school-level placements but did not specify which individual is assigned to which school.

Three returning staff members also took part in the orientation: Ailish McCarthy and Erini Kallivokas in the elementary school and Rachel Vining in the high school.

In a Sept. 8 announcement welcoming students back for the first day of school, Kelly said the district looks forward to a year of learning and growth, with every student working to fulfill the Bronxville Promise inside and outside the classroom.

Students returned to the single K–12 building on Tuesday, Sept. 8, one week after the new staff orientation wrapped up.
