Concordia Conservatory pianist Daniel Colalillo will perform works by composers whose music was suppressed by war, persecution and prejudice at a Friday, Sept. 25, concert in Bronxville.

The recital, titled "Silenced Voices," opens the conservatory's 2026–27 Classics at the Keyboard series.

It takes place at 1 p.m. in Stein Hall at 171 White Plains Road.

The one-hour program pairs piano performance with commentary on the historical circumstances that buried these composers' work, according to the conservatory's calendar listing.

"Every generation has the opportunity to rediscover remarkable artists whose voices deserve to be heard," Ji Na Kim, artistic director of the Classics at the Keyboard series, said in a conservatory announcement.

"This program reminds us that great music can transcend history's injustices, inviting us to listen with fresh ears and deeper understanding."

Colalillo joined Concordia's faculty in June 2025, teaching piano and composition at the Bronxville and Stamford campuses. He holds a master's degree from Mannes College The New School for Music and a bachelor's from Purchase Conservatory of Music, both in piano performance. He also teaches at the 92nd Street Y.

The performer is no stranger to major stages. In April, Colalillo performed a solo recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

That program, "Sonatas Through the Ages," included the world premiere of Lowell Liebermann's Piano Sonata No. 4, Musical America reported.

The specific composers featured in the "Silenced Voices" program have not been announced publicly.

The series' second concert, "Beethoven: Sound Against Silence," is scheduled for March 5, 2027, also at 1 p.m. in Stein Hall.

Tickets for "Silenced Voices" cost $28 for adults and $14 for seniors and children.
