Eastchester High School holds its College Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 29, opening a busy fall stretch for district families.
Superintendent Dr. Alison Villanueva highlighted the date in a message posted Friday, Sept. 25. "It's officially Fall and our district is humming!" she wrote, noting that Open Houses and Back to School Nights wrapped up across all five campuses.
The Eastchester Columbus Day Carnival runs Oct. 9–12 at Lake Isle Country Club, 660 White Plains Road, according to a New York Family listing. Hours are Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 11 p.m., and Monday from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission is free. Ride wristbands cost $35.
The Columbus Day Parade starts at noon Sunday, Oct. 11, on Dempsey Place and ends at the carnival. Schools are closed Monday, Oct. 12.
Homecoming Weekend at Eastchester High School follows Oct. 16–17. A schedule has not yet been posted.
The Eastchester Board of Education met Sept. 15 for a regular session that included presentations from each school, the athletic department, the special education team and the facilities crew. A board administrative retreat is also set for Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Closer to home, the EHS Multicultural Club held its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26, moving indoors to the cafeteria after a nor'easter threat. Proceeds went to the family of retired EHS teacher Ed Gruber, who was hospitalized after a traffic accident earlier in the summer. Gruber served the district for 35 years.
