Fourteen Eastchester High School students earned spots in the Westchester Area All State ensembles, the district announced Friday, Sept. 25.

Six were chosen for the Area All State Orchestra: Yuusuke Tseng, Katerina Artemenko, Katherine Xue, Emilia Ryan, Jaiden Suelto and Nick Mally. Four will play in the Area All State Band: Lily Stas, Joven Zou, Jaden Jung and Frank Rasetina. Four earned choir spots: Julia Alioti-Passi, Julia Mylenski, Tatum Schilo and Mila Sulkowski.

The Westchester County School Music Association organizes the program. Students are selected based on their New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Solo Festival scores and recommendations from music educators.

"They're performing with other students who are also very talented musicians and singers from around the county and getting a chance to work with a guest conductor, playing music at a high level," music chair Mark Dodge said.

The 14 students will rehearse through October before performing at New Rochelle High School on Saturday, Oct. 24.
