Scarsdale has two new spots to eat and drink this summer: a family-run coffee shop on Christie Place and a wood-fired Italian-American restaurant on Central Park Avenue.

Dante's Lattes: Christie Place's new morning stop

Dante Ventura, a barista with a decade of experience at Ground Central Coffee Company and For Five Coffee Roasters in New York City, opened Dante's Lattes at 58A Christie Place with his wife, Yasmilka Ventura, and his brother, Juan Ventura.

The shop serves traditional coffee drinks alongside specialties like a cold foam cinnamon bun latte, plus tea, avocado toast, and fresh pastries, according to Westchester Magazine's August dining roundup. Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Lombardo's: six ovens, 109 seats on Central Park Avenue

Lombardo's opened its third Westchester County location on Wednesday, May 13, in the Midway Shopping Center at 919 Central Park Avenue.

The restaurant is co-owned by Alberto Sivo, his father-in-law Mario Lombardo (the original founder), and brothers-in-law Mario Jr. and Peter. Sivo was born in Alfano, the same village south of Naples as his father-in-law.

The family gutted a former Pizza Hut and rebuilt the space with a green, blue, and brown color scheme, cushioned banquettes seating up to 109, and a 12-seat bar at the back. Six wood-fired ovens turn out 18-inch Neapolitan and Sicilian pies and 12-inch personal pizzettes.

"Scarsdale is a good town," Sivo told lohud.com in May. "People know the brand already. Plus, this is a busy shopping center, so it made sense to expand here."

Menu highlights include Nonna's meatballs, baked clams, spaghetti al cartoccio with shrimp and sweet sausage in a Sambuca-infused pink sauce, and hot honey vodka chicken Parm. The restaurant also offers gluten-free pizzettes, delivery, and catering.

Lombardo's other Westchester locations are in White Plains (open since 2013) and Dobbs Ferry (open since 2018). Hours at the Scarsdale spot are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Phone: 914-840-0040.

Scarsdale's downtown dining scene continues to shift. Caffè Nero is seeking signage approval for a Christie Place location, with its application heading to the village's architectural review board on Monday, Aug. 10.
