Eleven new houses moved closer to construction Monday, July 27, after the Scarsdale Board of Architectural Review approved two of three multi-home development applications in the summer's heaviest single-session new-construction load.

The board, chaired by Brad Cetron, heard nine applications at Village Hall, 1001 Post Road, covering everything from single-family additions to a seven-house subdivision, according to amended results posted Wednesday, July 29. Four applications received outright approval, one was approved with conditions, two were held over, one was sent back for resubmission, and one was adjourned to the next meeting.

The big projects

The three multi-home developments on the agenda proposed a combined 14 new houses across three Scarsdale sites:

  • Hillview Luxury Dev, 13 Hillview Drive (4 houses): Approved.
  • 17 Dolma LLC, 17 Dolma Road (7 houses): Approved with conditions.
  • Chi & Zhu, 0 Spier Road (3 houses): Held over without approval.

That totals 11 houses cleared. The Hillview and Dolma projects together now have BAR sign-off, though the specific conditions attached to the Dolma approval have not been detailed in the posted results.

Full meeting minutes have not yet been published.

The board approved Mr. and Mrs. Rotter's application to amend a new house at 22 Meadow Road, Mr. and Mrs. Rosewater's addition at 30 Heathcote Road, and Zhang and Li's addition and alterations at 20 Lockwood Road.

Venkateshwar and Kannan's addition at 43 Paddington Road was held over. Rajat Malhotra's addition at 18 Rochambeau Road was adjourned and will return at the next meeting.

16 Cooper Rd LLC received the most adverse outcome of the session: its Planning Board referral for a new house preliminary at 16 Cooper Road was directed to resubmit entirely.

What's next
