Scarsdale residents can now read the public library's blueprint for the next five years, after the Scarsdale Public Library published a strategic plan covering 2026 to 2031.

Library Board President Diksha Mudbhary announced the plan on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

She said the process drew on six months of surveys and focus groups with residents, staff and community leaders.

"We are excited to share the results with the community!

This 5-year plan is designed to be flexible, actionable, and responsive, helping the library measure progress, communicate impact, and continue building a library that reflects the needs, values, and aspirations of Scarsdale in the years ahead," Mudbhary said.

The library worked with Library Strategies Consulting Group (LSCG), an independent firm that has partnered with libraries nationwide for about two decades, to lead the process.

LSCG designed the survey, ran focus groups and collected feedback from stakeholders, community leaders, residents, Library Trustees and staff, according to Scarsdale10583.

All responses went directly to the consulting group for review.

Library Director Elizabeth Bermel credited the residents and staff who gave their time. She said the plan would not have been possible without their input and thanked everyone who participated.

The plan is online. The full document is posted on the library's website. Specific goals and program changes were not detailed in the announcement.
