A nine-member committee of Scarsdale High School graduates is organizing a two-day 50th reunion for the Class of 1976, set for Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026. The invitation is open to all members of the graduating class and to former schoolmates who left Scarsdale before senior year.
The weekend begins Friday evening with a meet-and-greet. A venue has not yet been announced. Saturday's main event will be held at Coveleigh Club in Rye from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., followed by an after-party.
The committee — Bill McInerney, Ian Shapiro, Kathleen Keel, Karen Murgolo, Carlos Toro, Mitchell Schear, Margie Lattin Bazany, Denise Kessler Greenman, and Peggy Smoler Schecter — announced the event on Scarsdale10583.com on July 24. They are hoping to draw as many of the class's roughly 431 graduates as possible, according to the announcement.
The committee described the Class of 1976 as SHS's "Bicentennial Class," a reference to their graduation during America's 200th birthday. The reunion also falls during the nation's 250th anniversary year.
