New York State Police seized fentanyl packaged for sale, cocaine, and other drugs from a vehicle stopped on the northbound Thruway in Yonkers on Monday, July 20, according to state police.

Troopers found multiple glassine envelopes containing fentanyl, packaging that indicates preparation for street-level distribution, according to authorities. They also recovered approximately two grams of cocaine and what police described as several other illegal drugs in varying amounts.

Brad Columbus, 41, and Danielle Ostrum, 37, both of Schenectady, were each charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. They also face charges of fourth-, fifth-, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, state police said. Columbus was additionally charged with driving without a license.

Both were arraigned Tuesday, July 21, in Yonkers and released without bail, according to online court records.

The suspects were traveling northbound on I-87, heading away from New York City, at the time of the stop.
