Bronxville girls varsity soccer players invited their Scarsdale opponents to share cupcakes and cookies after a recent Saturday game to celebrate one of their nine seniors' birthdays.
Players from both squads gathered for a group photo after the postgame celebration, MyHometownBronxville.com reported, sharing what the site described as "smiles and laughter in a spontaneous display of friendship and goodwill."
The Bronxville team organized the treats, and the Scarsdale players joined in, in photos taken by Michaela Donohue.
The birthday senior was not identified by name.
The moment arrived during a busy stretch of Section 1 girls soccer playoffs.
The tournament began Oct. 23 and runs through section finals at Arlington High School, with winners advancing to the state tournament, according to The Journal News/lohud.
