Picture House Bronxville will sell movie tickets for 25 cents on Saturday, Sept. 12, marking 100 years since the Kraft Avenue theater first opened.
The quarter admission matches the original 1926 ticket price. All screenings throughout the day and evening will be available at that price, according to MyHometownBronxville.
Tickets must be purchased in person at the box office at 84 Kraft Avenue. Moviegoers can also pick up a free commemorative centennial poster.
Saturday's event is the first in a yearlong centennial celebration. The nonprofit theater plans special screenings, programs and other events through 2027.
Additional programming will be announced at Party on Kraft, the theater's annual fundraising event, on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m.
The theater opened in September 1926 on what was then called "Brick Row" on Kraft Avenue, according to a Bronxville village column from 2023. It started as a single-screen house with seating for about 1,100.
A fire later gutted the auditorium, leading to a 1960 remodel, according to Cinema Treasures.
United Artists Partners converted it into a triplex. Bow-Tie Cinemas ran the building until the pandemic forced its closure.
The Picture House Regional Film Center, which also operates the Pelham Picture House, took over in December 2021 and reopened the Bronxville location on Feb. 11, 2022.
Executive Director Clayton Bushong has described the theater as a community gathering place. Speaking about the free Senior Cinema series on Sept. 8, Bushong said, "We love seeing our theaters become a gathering place every Tuesday afternoon."
Tickets are box-office only.
