Pulitzer Prize-winning author Anna Quindlen will discuss her New York Times bestselling novel "More Than Enough" at Scarsdale Golf Club on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.
The Friends of the Scarsdale Library, a nonprofit that supports the local library system, is hosting the evening. Quindlen will sit down with Sarah Lyall, writer at large at The New York Times, for a conversation about the novel.
An event announcement on scarsdale10583.com described the talk as spoiler-free.
The event includes a book signing.
Wine and light bites will also be served. Tickets start at $75 and include admission plus a signed copy of "More Than Enough." A $150 tier adds a Friends of the Library membership. Sponsorship levels run from $250 to $10,000. Registration is available through the Friends of the Scarsdale Library's Givebutter page.
Leading sponsors include New York Presbyterian, Zach and Heather Harrison, and the Laura Miller Team at Houlihan Lawrence, according to the event announcement.
About the author
Quindlen won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1992 for her New York Times column "Public and Private," which covered culture, education, health care and social justice. She was the third woman ever to write for the Times' Op-Ed page, and her earlier "About New York" and "Life in the Thirties" columns built wide followings.
Thirteen of her books, including eight novels, have appeared on the New York Times Best Sellers list. Her book "A Short Guide to a Happy Life" has sold more than a million copies. Three of her novels have been adapted into films, including "One True Thing," which starred Meryl Streep in an Academy Award-nominated performance alongside Renée Zellweger and William Hurt.
"More Than Enough," published in February, follows high school English teacher Polly Goodman, whose book club friends give her an ancestry test kit as a joke. The results match her with a stranger, setting off a search through family history and secrets.
Lyall writes a monthly column about thrillers for The New York Times and appears frequently on the NYT Book Review podcast. She has worked on virtually every desk at the Times, according to the event announcement.
