The Scarsdale Historical Society is sending residents on a trolley ride through 325 years of village history this fall.

The all-volunteer organization announced a 90-minute guided trolley tour on Sunday, Nov. 1, with three departure times at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. The family-friendly ride will trace Scarsdale from colonial farms and the Revolutionary War era through the age of country estates, when horses still traveled the village's roads.

The society says the tour will highlight historic homes, former estates and Revolutionary War sites it describes as hiding in plain sight around the village.

Tickets will be limited. Society members get first access at a discounted price before remaining seats open to the public. The trolley will depart from a central Scarsdale location still to be announced, and ticket details have not yet been released.

The tour doubles as part of the national America 250 commemoration, tying Scarsdale's local anniversary to the country's semiquincentennial. The Historical Society is also organizing a separate Living History Family Day on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, with activities running 1 to 5 p.m. and a Revolutionary War reenactment at 1:30 p.m.

Founded in 1973, the society has produced 12 documentary videos on village life and renovated the Cudner-Hyatt House on Post Road as a museum. It won the Scarsdale Foundation's 2026 Spotlight Award in January.

President Randy Guggenheimer said at the time that the group was proud to be recognized for bringing local history to life, and noted the society is also developing a podcast.

Mayor Justin Arest, speaking at the same January ceremony, said the society's educational work is "vital to preserving our shared story" and that he looked forward to marking both the 250th and 325th anniversaries.

Residents can check the Scarsdale Historical Society's website for ticket and departure details as they become available.
