Scarsdale police arrested an 18-year-old Pelham man after he was found inside a vacant Woods Lane house during a youth party early Sunday, Aug. 2, capping a week that also included break-ins, identity theft and multiple traffic arrests across the village.

Lorenzo Barbieri was charged with trespassing around 1 a.m. after officers found him on the scene with a backpack and a music speaker, according to the Scarsdale Police Department's weekly blotter. The arrest came one night after police had already dispersed youths from the same Woods Lane property on Saturday, Aug. 1.

Youth gatherings at vacant homes extended beyond Woods Lane. Officers also cleared teens from a vacant house in Greenacres on Aug. 1 and dispersed youths from Windmill Lane on Wednesday, July 29.

Break-ins and property crime

On Tuesday, July 28, a landlord provided police with video footage of someone breaking into a vacant apartment on East Parkway. The same day, graffiti was spray-painted on the side of a white pump house shed on Taunton Road.

On Sunday, Aug. 2, people wearing ski masks broke into a parked car on Berwick Road. The car was searched but nothing was reported stolen.

Identity theft

A Sheldrake Road man reported on July 28 that someone in Massachusetts had opened a fraudulent LLC in his name, a form of business identity theft.

Traffic arrests

Police arrested Marius Orlinis, 57, of Norwalk, Connecticut, on Monday, July 27, on charges of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was released on his own recognizance.

On Monday, Aug. 3, officers arrested Kennett Figueroa Molina, 23, of Mamaroneck, on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding. He was also released on his own recognizance.

During the week, police issued summonses to five additional drivers for registration and licensing violations and recorded one car accident in the village.

Suspicious activity and downed tree

Two women walked up a Greenacres Avenue driveway on July 27; the homeowner confronted them and they said they had gone the wrong way. The homeowner found it suspicious and reported it.

Con Edison and the Scarsdale Highway Department addressed a fallen tree into wires on Saxon Woods Road on July 29.
